Lincoln University Presents 2nd Annual Legacy Awards Gala Friday, October 22, 2004

The program will honor four individuals for their achievements.

Lincoln University, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary as America's first Historically Black University, will present its Second Annual Legacy Awards Gala on Friday, October 22, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., at Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza, in the ballroom, at 17th and Race Streets, in Philadelphia.

Four individuals will be honored for their distinguished careers and achievements:

National Science Foundation Awards Lincoln $2.4 Million Grant

Lincoln University, PA — which is nationally recognized as a major producer of African Americans with undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences, computer and informational sciences, biological and life sciences -- has been awarded a $2.4 million grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The grant will further Lincoln's efforts to increase the number of students graduating in science, mathematics, engineering and technology programs.

Lincoln Summer Program Orients Young Professionals to Transportation Industry; PA Department of Transportation Official Speaks to Students at Noon on July 30

Lincoln University, PA —Lincoln University will conclude its Summer Transportation Institute (STI) on Friday, July 30, 2004, with a keynote address from Bob Garrett, chief of research for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT), starting at noon in the Marshall Living Learning Center on the campus in southern Chester County.

Lincoln Completes Sale of $40.1 Million in Revenue Bonds to Finance Construction of 400-Bed Residence Hall and Refinance Graduate Center

Moody's Investors Service has assigned Lincoln its first ever "A3 underlying rating" to the sale of the bonds, calling the University's financial outlook stable and acknowledging Lincoln's "distinctive market position" in higher education.

R & B Greats Jean Carne and Michael Henderson Reunite For Concert at Lincoln’s Founder’s Day Weekend on May 1 at Manuel Rivero Hall Gymnasium

Henderson’s “Wide Receiver” and Carne’s “Don’t Let It Go To Your Head,” were among the top soul hits during the late 1970s and early 80s. Their duet, “Valentine Love,” made Billboard’s Top 10 chart in 1975.
