Lincoln University, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary as America's first Historically Black University, will present its Second Annual Legacy Awards Gala on Friday, October 22, 2004, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., at Wyndham Philadelphia at Franklin Plaza, in the ballroom, at 17th and Race Streets, in Philadelphia.
Four individuals will be honored for their distinguished careers and achievements:
Lincoln University, PA — which is nationally recognized as a major producer of African Americans with undergraduate degrees in the physical sciences, computer and informational sciences, biological and life sciences -- has been awarded a $2.4 million grant by the National Science Foundation (NSF). The grant will further Lincoln's efforts to increase the number of students graduating in science, mathematics, engineering and technology programs.

Henderson’s “Wide Receiver” and Carne’s “Don’t Let It Go To Your Head,” were among the top soul hits during the late 1970s and early 80s. Their duet, “Valentine Love,” made Billboard’s Top 10 chart in 1975.
