Welcome from the Dean - College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences

Welcome to the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. We are delighted that you are interested in our College and the community of teachers, scholars, artists and performers who breathe life into our mission and vision. The College promotes an appreciation of cultural diversity and liberal studies with a global perspective.

Since 1859 when our first three graduates were sent to work as missionaries in Liberia, this institution has been forward looking and committed to preparing leaders to transform our country and world. The College consists of Languages & Literature, Mass Communication, History, Political Science & Philosophy, Visual & Performing Arts, and Sociology & Criminal Justice. We encourage you to explore how our program offerings align with your life and career goals.

Soon after arriving here in 1926, prolific poet Langston Hughes observed that Lincoln has "a spirit of its own" where one feels at home. We hope that you, too, feel at home at Lincoln University Where Being The First Matters.
