Development

Overview

The Office of Development is here to help you identify the Lincoln giving opportunities that best suit your goals, passions and priorities. Whether you are interested in supporting the university and its students through an annual gift, a major gift, a planned gift, or some other initiative that matches your unique situation, the staff at the Office of Development looks forward to working with you to channel your philanthropic vision to shape the future of this great university.

When you choose to give to Lincoln University, you show your appreciation for the institution, faculty, and friendships that helped to shape your life.

You show your support for current students and help them receive the resources they need to compete in today’s world. Your gift inspires them to become engaged citizens who will enrich our communities, nation and the world.  And you show your belief in Lincoln’s future and all that we have yet to accomplish.

Reasons to Give

Lincoln Fund – The Fund For Lincoln Scholars is Lincoln’s yearly support program. Tuition and fees cover only 45% of costs to educate a student each year. Gifts to the Fund for Lincoln Scholars from alumni, and friends help to bridge the gap between revenue and expenses. Each year, the dollars given go directly into the College’s budget for the next year. Unrestricted gifts to the University are used for areas that are in most need of financial support. Restricted gifts can be designated for areas that are in most need of annual support, or earmarked for another specific purpose.

Students First Initiative – The Students First Initiative is a $10,000,000 campaign designed to raise endowment for both need-based and merit-based scholarships.

Lincoln Society – Members of The Lincoln Society have supported the University with a gift of $1,000 or more during the last fiscal year. With their investment, Lincoln University continues to enrich the lives of all of our students

Endowment – Endowment gifts are permanently invested to supply a steady, annual source of funds for the purposes agreed upon by the donor and the university. Minimum contribution is $25,000.

Athletics – Athletics enhances the mission of the university by promoting institutional pride through the pursuit of athletic excellence and service to the community. Lincoln Athletics Fund enhances the student-athlete experience by channeling resources to scholarships; short-term facility needs and program expenses across Lincoln’s 14 intercollegiate teams. The fund also helps the university attract the best scholar-athletes and promote its mission of service to others.

Other Gifts – Members of the University’s Advancement Team are prepared to speak with you and/or your financial advisor regarding other types of gifts, including real and personal property.
