Health Science (Department)

Message from the Chair

Welcome to the Health Science Department of Lincoln University!  On behalf of our dedicated faculty and staff, I am pleased to introduce you our department.  As you can see from our mission statement, we work to prepare our students for the demands of graduate school as well as the marketplace.  Our graduates have gone on to pursue careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, health administration and public health (just to name a few).

One of the first things you will notice here at Lincoln University is the family-like atmosphere.  We in the Health Science department continue that phenomenon with our majors.  Our students are not just numbers, but we know them by name.  All of us who work in this department possess a genuine care and concern for not only the academic but also the personal progress of our students.  We pride ourselves on doing all that we can to ensure the future success of our students.  Please stop and see us sometime!

Mission Statement

The mission of the Health Science Program is to prepare and graduate students for graduate school and the marketplace for purposes of enhancing health wellness statuses of the students/clients who they serve. Given the ever-widening health disparities between white Americans and populations of color, this goal becomes more relevant each subsequent year. Narrowing that gap can be achieved with well-prepared students embarking on a career in the health sciences.

The Health Sciences Department at Lincoln University educates and train students who will address human health. Our department promotes practical and social scientific perspectives in order to promote health and improve the lives of individuals and communities.
