LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The Lincoln University President, Dr. Robert R. Jennings, announced the appointment of Dr. Denise Wilbur as Interim-Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Wilbur will begin her duties on October 28, 2013.
“I am so pleased that Dr. Wilbur is assisting us at this point in our history,” said Dr. Jennings. “I am certain that with her assistance we will continue to move our University to new levels of excellence.”
Dr. Wilbur has served as Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor Education, Chief Academic Officer of the Gwynedd-Mercy College in Gwynedd-Valley, PA, Interim Vice President for Academic, Faculty and Student Affairs at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas, Dean, College of Undergraduate Programs at the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Il where she also served as Dean, of the College of Arts and Sciences. Additionally, she has served as Assistant Academic Dean and Dean of the College of College and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences as well as Director of Institutional Research at the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.
Active in her profession, Dr. Wilbur has served as a consultant to a number of educational organizations, including colleges and universities. She is a published author and presenter, especially on issues involving women and minorities.
A member of Harvard University Phi Delta Kappa Chapter, she also holds membership in the American Educational Research Association, the Association for Institutional Research, the American Association for Higher Education and the National Association for Women in Catholic Higher Education, the Council of Colleges of Arts and Sciences and was elected by students in 1993 to Omicron Delta Kappa. Dr. Wilbur holds an Ed. D. degree in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University, an M. A. in Adult Education Administration from the University of Connecticut and a B. A. degree in Speech and Theatre from Clarke College in Dubuque, Iowa.
