Blue named HBCU All-American

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - The Lincoln University men's basketball team has an All-American.

Junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) has been honored by BoxToRow as a First Team Division II HBCU All-American. The website has named a Division II HBCU All-American team since 2009. He is the fourth Lincoln University men's basketball player to earn the honor, but the first to be named first team. Cameron Campbell (2018-19) and Deaquan Williams (Camden, N.J./Camden) (2019-20) were named second team, while Denzel Mooney (2011-12) earned honorable mention honors.

"Another deserving accomplishment," said Corey Lowery, Lincoln University head men's basketball coach. "Earning first team All-American honors puts him in an elite group, which will garner the attention of pro scouts. Zahrion continues to make the University and his family proud. We look for even greater accomplishments in his future."

Blue has earned First Team All-Region honored by the Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association and Second Team All-Region honors by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. The forward was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Player of the Year becoming the first Lincoln men's basketball player to receive the yearly honor from the conference.

A preseason all-forward selection, Blue has been pivotal in Lincoln's success this season as the Lions navigated a couple of key injuries and started three freshmen for most of the season.

He led the CIAA in scoring with 18.9 points per game, but his scoring doesn't fully typify his impact on the game. Blue is fourth in the CIAA in rebounding (7.3 rpg), fourth in field goal percentage (48.2%), fifth in steals (1.5 spg), and 11th in assists (2.7 apg).
Campbell is just the second Lincoln player to be named to a BOXTOROW division II All-American Team since its inception in 2009, joining Denzel Mooney Mooney earned Honorable Mention All-American accolades in 2012.

Lincoln finished the year 18-10, the most wins since the 2013-14 season.
