Blue named NABC All-Region

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, Pa. – Lincoln University men's basketball junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) has picked up more all-region honors.

The National Basketball Coaches Association named Blue as a second-team All-Atlantic Region honoree. This comes after the Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association named Blue first-team All-Atlantic Region.

"Another great honor for Zahrion," said Corey Lowery, Lincoln University head men's basketball coach. "Making second team all-region is a great accomplishment and it should also create a hunger in him to achieve at an even higher level. I believe Zahrion has another level in his game that he can reach that will not only take his game to another level but also will take his team to a higher level of success as well. I believe he will continue to put in the necessary work to reach that elite status he desires.

The forward was named the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) Player of the Year becoming the first Lincoln men's basketball player to receive the yearly honor from the conference.

A preseason all-forward selection, Blue has been pivotal in Lincoln's success this season as the Lions navigated a couple of key injuries and started three freshmen for most of the season.

He led the CIAA in scoring with 18.9 points per game, but his scoring doesn't fully typify his impact on the game. Blue is fourth in the CIAA in rebounding (7.3 rpg), fourth in field goal percentage (48.2%), fifth in steals (1.5 spg), and 11th in assists (2.7 apg).

Lincoln finished the year 18-10, the most wins since the 2013-14 season.
