Butler earns CIAA weekly honor

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - Lincoln University track and field athlete Glenn Butler, Jr. (Greenburgh, N.Y./White Plains) has been honored by the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, the conference announced today (December 7, 2021).

Butler was named the Food Lion Men's Field Athlete of the Week following his performance at the TCNJ Indoor Opener. He posted an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying mark of 7.35 meters in the long jump, placing second overall. It was the highest mark of any DII athlete at the meet.

"After some early trouble finding the board, Glenn Butler jumps a mark not too far from his personal best," said Lincoln University track and field coach Roland Whiting. "I'm excited to see Glenn jump this year. It's good mark to start the season."

He added a top-five finish in the triple jump with a mark of 11.85 meters.

Lincoln returns to action Friday at the Bow Tie Invitational in Phoenixville, Pa.
