Lincoln University, Pa. - Lincoln University’s Office of International Programs and Services hosted a group of representatives from Instituto Superior Tecnologico Bolivariano de Technologica, Guayaquil, Ecuador and the Knowledge Exchange Institute from May 16-18.
ITB Vice Rector Victor Gustavo Gomez Rodriguez led the delegation, which included ITB Director of Health Unit and Social Services Luise Alberto Algate Peralta, nursing professors Letty Guicela Simancas Ordonez and Caicedo Quiroz Rosangela and Eduard Mandell, chief executive officer and president of Knowledge Exchange Institute, the study abroad provider for which Lincoln serves as the school of record for students from any U.S. school studying at KEI’s programs world-wide.
While at Lincoln, the delegation met with representatives from the health science and nursing programs, including Joyce Taylor, director of Lincoln’s nursing program to discuss possible partnerships between ITB and Lincoln.

Lincoln’s Office of International Programs and Services Director, Constance Lundy, said Lincoln’s current two-year partnership with ITB has “provided rich cultural experiences for Lincoln students and, equally important, ITB engages students in their specific field of study, giving the student a unique international lens to view their coursework through.”
Several Lincoln students have studied abroad at ITB, including: Tamara Jones and Alexis Collier ’16, both Vira Heinz scholarship awardees. Jones, a Chicago, Illinois native, is a senior biology and bio-psychosocial health double major who studied abroad and completed an internship at ITB during Summer 2015. Collier, a Macon, Georgia native, was also the first student to study and intern at ITB. She graduated summa cum laude in 2016 with a degree in biology.
Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador and the country's commercial center, is an hour drive from tropical beaches, Amazon basin and Andes mountains.
