Lincoln releases 2022 Football Schedule

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - The Lincoln University athletic department has released the 2022 Lions football schedule.

Lincoln will be playing four home games with six road contests, including just a pair of non-conference games as the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Associations moves to an eight-game conference slate.

"We are excited for the upcoming 2022 schedule for our Lions Football Team," said Lincoln University Head Coach Josh Dean. "It is always a competitive schedule playing in the CIAA. Opening against Delaware State University will be a great challenge and experience for our team which returns 10 starters on defense and seven starters on offense. We also return both of our kickers. We continue to build and strengthen the Lincoln Lion program through recruiting, getting stronger in the weight room, and growing closer as a family."

The Lions open the season with four of its first five games away from the newly-renovated Lincoln Football Stadium. LU opens the season on September 3rd at FCS Delaware State before traveling to SIAC-opponent Central State on September 10.

Fayetteville State comes calling on September 17th for the only home game in September. A pair of different CIAA South opponent come onto the schedule when the Lions travel to Johnson C. Smith (September 24) and Winton-Salem State (October 1).

Homecoming marks the second home contest of the year as Lincoln welcomes Chowan to campus on October 8. The Lions turn around for another road game as they travel to Elizabeth City State on October 15.

Back-to-back October home games with Virginia Union (October 22) and Virginia State (October 29) conclude the home portion of the season before Lincoln travels to Bowie State for the regular-season finale on November 5.
