MBB Preview: Claflin

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - After a 23-day hiatus, the Lincoln University men's basketball team returns to the court - traveling to Claflin 7:30 p.m. Monday.

MR. TWO-WAY
Junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) leads the team, and is second in the CIAA, averaging 19.0 points per game. He has scored at least 15 points in 12 of the team's 13 games, including seven times of at least 20 points. In the win over WSSU, not only did his pair of free throws clinch the win, it moved him over the 1,000-point mark. 

He is currently eighth in the conference with 7.5 rebounds, fourth with 3.2 assists, and fifth in assist to turnover ratio. 

WINDEX MEN
Lincoln is one of the top rebounding teams in the CIAA, leading the league with 16.2 offensive rebounds and 26.6 defensive rebounds. The Lions are second in rebounding margin, outrebounding their opponents by 6.8 boards per game. Two players - Alex Nunnally (Washington, D.C./Cesar Chavez Parkside) (3rd, 8.5 rpg) and Blue (8th, 7.5 rpg) - are ranked in the top 10 of the conference. 

HIGH OCTANE
The Lincoln University men's basketball team is second in the CIAA with 76.2points per game. The Lions are one of five conference teams with a positive scoring margin, second in the league, outscoring teams by 6.3 points per game. 

RESERVE CONTRIBUTIONS
Through the first five games, the Lions were relying heavily on its starting five as freshman Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J. /University) was the only consistent scorer coming off the bench. 

As the season has progressed, and with the adjustment of the starting lineup, Lincoln is getting contributions through the rotation. Junior Alex Nunnally (Washington, D.C./Cesar Chavez Parkside), who has moved to a reserve role recently, has averaged a double-double with 10.2 points and 10.8 rebounds since moving to the bench. 

SHARE THE WEALTH
Junior point guard Korey Williams (Brooklyn, N.Y./LaSalle Academy) leads the team and is fourth in the conference with 3.4 assists per game. Additionally, he is fourth in assist to turnover ratio at 1.6. As the team, the Lions are third in the 12-team CIAA with 13.08 assists per game.
