MBB winning streak snapped

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA  – The Lincoln University men's basketball team surrendered a 10-point lead in the final 3:36 and fell to Bowie State in overtime, 82-76, in Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association action Saturday at the AC Jordan Arena in Bowie, MD.

After a three-pointer with 13 seconds remaining that knotted the game, Lincoln had a chance to secure the victory – but a free-throw line jumper was missed.

Bowie scored seven of the first nine points to start the overtime session which extended its game-changing run over the end of the second half and beginning of the overtime session to 20-5.

Junior Zahrion Blue (Princeton, N.J./Princeton) led a quartet of double-figure scorers with 23 points and six rebounds. Freshman Bakir Cleveland (Newark, N.J. /University) finished with 15 points, while freshman Reggie Hudson (Bronx, N.Y./St. Raymond's) added 11 points and junior Isaiah Miles (Brandywine, Md./Gwynn Park) 10 points.

Lincoln (11-5 overall, 4-1 CIAA) had its seven-game winning streak come to an end. The Lions return to home for the first time in more than a month, hosting Elizabeth City State 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
