Men place 4th, women 6th at WCU

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – The Lincoln University men's track and field team placed fourth of nine teams, while the women's team was sixth of nine teams as the Lions recently competed in the WCU Golden Ram Invitational in Unionville, Pa.

Junior Dominic George (Wyncote, Pa./Cheltenham) registered the lone event victory for the men's team, winning the 100-meter dash in 11.15 seconds. Freshman Kamani Johns (Chester, Pa./Chester) and sophomore Nakacee McNab (Freeport, N.Y./Freeport) recorded event wins, crossing the line first in the 400-meter run and 400-meter hurdles, respectively. Johns finished her distances in 59.04 seconds, while McNab was victorious in 1:09.09.

Senior Lorielle Laforest (Chester, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) was the only other women's competitor to score for the Lions, placing eighth in the shot put (10.46 meters).

Six other Lincoln men's student-athletes scored for the Lions. Freshman Jameel Hoyes (Atlanta, Ga./Veterans) placed third in the 200 (22.82 seconds), freshman Jude Butumbi (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) was fourth in the 100 (11.29 seconds), freshman Jeremy Gyan (Bear, Del./Newark Charter) was fourth in the pole vault (3.45 seconds), freshman Clayton McLaren (Brockton, Mass./Brimmer and May) was fifth in the 400 (52.95 seconds), freshman Ra'ar Corinaldi was seventh in the 800 (2:04.38) and sophomore Spencer Seide (Mount Vernon, N.Y./Mount Vernon) was eighth in the 200 (23.47).

Lincoln returns to action this weekend at the Spartan Invitational in Norfolk, Va.
