Preseason Ranking for Women's Basketball

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA - Preseason accolades are starting to roll in for the Lincoln University women's basketball team ahead of the 2020-21 season.

The Lions were ranked fourth by HBCUWomensSports Top 10. Lincoln was one of three Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) teams in the top 5.

"It's great to see us moving up in different ranking categories," said Lincoln University head coach Darrell Mosley. "It shows that we are starting to get respect for the body of work we have done in recent years. But, the job is not done yet. We have much work to do to continue to be one of the top programs in the region and the country."

Coming off a record-setting season in which they were nationally ranked for the first in the program's Division II history and established a school-record 23 wins, the Lions must replace 80 percent of its team's scoring. Included in the scoring proficiency was All-American Kwanza Murray (Summerville, S.C./Summerville (Lackawanna College)), who averaged 18.3 points per game on 44 percent shooting.

Lincoln brought in seven newcomers, four from the Division I ranks, a pair of Division II transfers, and a high school point guard with a couple state championships to her resume.

The Lions are tentatively scheduled to begin their season Wednesday, November 25 at George Washington University.
