Lincoln University, Pa.— The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) selected Dr. Robert E. Millette, a sociology professor, to serve a three-year term on its Appeals Panel.

MSCHE accredits institutions of higher education in the Middle Atlantic states. Institutions that receive an adverse accrediting action following a MSCHE review can appeal the decision. A hearing panel, comprised of three experienced peer reviewers, is selected from members of the Appeals Panel; such hearing panels include one public representative, one academic, and one college or university administrator.

MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidacy status) activities for institutions of higher education in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Lincoln University completed the self-study process in 2018-19 and MSCHE reaffirmed the University’s accreditation for another eight years on June 30.

Lincoln University, the nation’s first degree-granting Historically Black College and University (HBCU), educates and empowers students to lead their communities and change the world.
