Vernon Young (Chicago, Ill./University of St. Mary) sank a three-point field goal with 2:18 remaining, giving the Lincoln University men's basketball team their first lead of the second half as the Lions rallied from a nine-point second half deficit to defeat  the University of the Sciences 59-54 in front of a vocal crowd at Manuel Rivero Hall Tuesday night.

The win was the Lions first of the season and the first collegiate victory as a head coach for LU mentor Doug Overton.  Overton, a Big 5 Hall of Famer and former La Salle University great, took over as head coach of the program late last spring.  Lincoln is now 1-6 on the season.  The Devils dropped their seventh straight game, falling to 1-7 on the year as Coach Dave Pauley's squad continues to struggle closing out games.
