Lincoln University’s Plans for the 2009 Inauguration

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Lincoln University has made arrangements for students who are willing to travel to Washington D.C. or remain on campus for the January 20, 2009 inauguration.

The Student Government Association has scheduled a bus trip to the nation’s capital for approximately 100 students. The two buses will be departing from Manuel Rivero Hall (gymnasium) at 4 a.m. and will be returning to campus by 7 p.m.

Lincoln University’s Research Infrastructure Grant Award

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~Lincoln University has received an award from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) aimed at improving its research infrastructure. The award starts from the 30th of September 2008 and ends on the 30th of June 2013. During the five years of the grant, a total of $4,009,132 will be made available to Lincoln University to meet the objectives of the grant.

Best-Selling Author Steve Perry Challenges Class of 2012 to Make Self-Improvements and Add to Lincoln University's Legacy

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Dr. Steve Perry, founder of the Capital Preparatory Magnet School in Hartford, CT and author of Man Up, delivered a motivational speech to Lincoln University's newly inducted class of 2012 on Sunday, August 17th, 2008. The theme of the Rites of Passage ceremony was clear: change.

"It's about what you will do, not what you have done," the dedicated community activist said. "Our worst enemy is us."

Lincoln University of Pennsylvania’s Langston Hughes Memorial Library to host “Forever Free” traveling exhibition

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ A new traveling exhibition opening in the Fellowship Hall of Lincoln University’s Mary Dod Brown Chapel on Thursday, October 2, 2008 traces Abraham Lincoln’s gradual transformation from an antislavery moderate into “The Great Emancipator,” who freed all slaves with a revolutionary war-time proclamation in 1863.  “Forever Free: Abraham Lincoln’s Journey to Emancipation” will be on display at Lincoln University until November 14, 2008.

Lincoln University Selected to Host Fulbright Summer Pre-Academic Program

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ Lincoln University will once again host a two week Fulbright Pre-Academic Summer Program for 30 graduate students coming to the US for further education. The Department of State sponsors these pre-academic programs for incoming Fulbright students during the summer prior to their graduate programs in the fall. The program will take place on Lincoln's campus from July 20, 2008 to August 3, 2008.

Students from Lincoln University Take a Summer Program at American College Dublin

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA ~ On Friday June 6th Lincoln University held its second summer course program at the American College in Dublin, Ireland. Ten Business and Information Technology students participated in this 4 week session. Dr. Oswald Richards, Chair of the Department of Business and Information Technology taught the Strategic Management course.

Students taking a summer Semester Abroad Program met with President, Donald E. Ross and joined the Academic Dean for a photo-shoot to record this historic occasion.
