Mass Communications Center of Excellence Presents Dr. Matt McAllister

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Holding fast to the mission of preparing graduate school ready students, the Mass Communications Center of Excellence is continuing its pledge to introduce its majors to key members in the top 50 graduate schools.

On Wednesday, December 1, 2010, Dr. Matt McAllister, professor in the College of Communications at Penn State University will be speaking in the Science and High Technology Building, room 123 at 6:00 p.m.

He will be discussing advertiser and consumer criticism.

Lincoln University Students Work on Stunt Unit of a Lionsgate Production

Lincoln University PA – What normally appears as the congested boulevard known as John F. Kennedy in downtown Philadelphia has now been the location for the crime/action film Safe – a film that four Lincoln University students were selected to help produce.

Jamar Conner, Ashley Joy Stephens, Dexter Stuckey, and Evon Harris were selected to serve as production assistants for the stunt unit, on the set of the film written and directed by Boaz Yakin.

History Major Explores an Ancient Tomb before it’s Revealed to the Public

Lincoln University Presents the Spellbinding Reenactment of a Slave’s Quest for Freedom

Lincoln University, Pa – The vivid and fascinating story of Omar Ibn Sayyid, a Muslim African slave, will be reenacted in the Ware Center Theater at Lincoln University onTuesday, October 26, 2010 at 7:00 pm.

The one-act monologue by Ahmad Kenya, “The Life and Times of Omar Ibn Sayyid,” depicts the unforgettable life journey of a scholar from Futa Torro (modern-day Senegal) in West Africa in the early 1800s.

Alumnus and Students Use the Arts to Promote HIV/AIDS Awareness

Lincoln University, PA– African Americans represent only 12% of the U.S population, but they account for more new HIV infections and AIDS cases, than any other racial/ethnic group in the country.

This unnerving statistic inspired Lincoln University student organization People Standing United (PSU) to partner with alumnus Kash Goins ’94 to present the socially conscious play VI Degrees.

Lincoln University Partners with Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA – Lincoln University has been added to the roster of institutions that will partner with the Vira I. Heinz Program for Women in Global Leadership (VIH) to enable female students to study abroad.

On September 16-17, 2010, Carol Larson and Sarah Wagner, director and coordinator of the VIH Program, respectively, visited Lincoln University to promote the initiative.

Connie Lundy, director of International Programs and Services, expressed her enthusiasm regarding this very generous scholarship.
