Vira I. Heinz Scholarship

The Vira I. Heinz (VIH) Program for Women in Global Leadership prepares women for tomorrow's global challenges by offering a unique opportunity for international experiences, leadership development and community service. Universities and colleges across Pennsylvania participate in the VIH Program. Three young women from Lincoln University are eligible for the program and receive a scholarship of at least $5,000 to put toward the cost of an international experience of their choosing.

Picked applicants will meet in Pittsburgh for the Spring Pre-Departure Retreat. Activities will provide participants with opportunities that better prepare for their time abroad through developing global perspectives and international competencies as well as strategies for maximizing their cultural education while abroad and engaging their leadership skills in their communities.

The following requirements must be met:

  • Lincoln University female student
  • Sophomore or junior
  • 3.0+ GPA
  • Never traveled outside of the U.S

Application deadline is November 1.
